Jeffrey Gilbert, MD

Medical Director of Sexually Transmitted Infections

Dr. Gilbert brings over 44 years of clinical experience to GenPath. He was the founder and medical director of the nationally recognized STD Center for Excellence at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, for 17 years, where he offered a CME-accredited course in STDs. The STD Center for Excellence was the STD training site for New York State for 19 years and was also a CDC training center for five years. Dr. Gilbert now serves as the Medical Director of STIs for BioReference® and GenPath.

Dr. Gilbert has authored papers on a new treatment for resistant vaginal trichomonas infection, the use of Imiquomod in treating resistant Herpes infections in HIV-positive patients, the use of Imiquomod in treating genital warts in HIV-positive patients, nontreponema pallidum spirochetes causing genital ulcers,the use of Vitamin D to treat chronic urticarial, urethritis in women, and numerous papers on pap smears and HPV testing. Dr. Gilbert completed medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor of OB/GYN. He has provided guidance as an advisor to several patient organizations related to STDs. Dr. Gilbert had been named to Best Doctor’s in America from 2006 until his retirement from clinical practice in 2013.

Luoquan Wang, MD

Medical Director of Cytopathology

Dr. Wang completed his cytology fellowship and served as Assistant Professor and Attending Pathologist at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein Medical College, Bronx, NY. He received his pathology training from The State University New York at Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Wang received his MD from Hebei Medical College in ‎Shijiazhuang, Hebei‎, China and MS degree from Beijing Medical College in Beijing, China. He is board certified in cytopathology, anatomic pathology and clinical pathology.

Abdel Elhosseiny, MD

Pathologist

Dr. Elhosseiny is a senior pathologist with over 35 years of experience. Before joining GenPath in 2015, he served as an attending pathologist at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, VT. Dr. Elhosseiny held several leadership positions and served as a professor of pathology and the Director Pathology Student Advisement at The University of Vermont, VT. He also has numerous publications in journals, book chapters, and abstracts. Dr. Elhosseiny is board certified in clinical and anatomic pathology and cytopathology.

Julian Arce, MD

Pathologist

Dr. Arce graduated magna cum laude from University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He received his cytopathology training during his fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM)/Montefiore Medical Center (MMC) in Bronx, NY. Dr. Arce has authored recent publications on his research and was previously a cytopathologist at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and cytopathology.

Andrew Seymour, MD

Pathologist

Dr. Seymour is a board certified anatomic and cytopathologist with subspecialty board certification in both dermatopathology and cytopathology. He finished his fellowship training in dermatopathology at Miraca Life Sciences/Tufts Medical Center and cytopathology fellowship training at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Dr. Seymour has published articles in peer reviewed journals in cytology, dermatopathology and dermatology.
