James Weisberger, MD, FACP, FASCP
Chief Medical Officer, Executive Vice President, Laboratory Director
Dr. Weisberger is a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist and recognized leader in hematopathology. He oversees all key laboratory operations and quality systems, and maintains BioReference Health®, LLC as an innovative, quality laboratory where patient care and laboratory safety come first. Dr. Weisberger strives to position BioReference® as a leader in providing patient-centric, precision-based laboratory results and data analytics for best practice of patient care.
Dr. James Weisberger has authored more than 40 publications as abstracts or peer-reviewed journal articles, and is an active educator at the New York Medical College, where he serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology and Medicine. He is a Fellow and Member of the New Jersey House of Delegates for the College of American Pathology, and a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. He is also a member of the New Jersey Society of Pathology and Association for Molecular Pathology. Dr. Weisberger was Chief Resident in Pathology at Westchester Medical Center and holds both a BS and MS from Stanford University, and a MD from the University of Pennsylvania.
Fang Wen, MD, PhD
Dr. Fang Wen is a pathologist specializing in urologic pathology. She received her PhD in Molecular Pathology from the University of California-San Diego and completed her fellowship in genitourinary and general surgical pathology at the University of California-Los Angeles. Dr. Wen is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and has authored numerous publications and case reports, many with a focus on renal cell carcinoma, prostate biopsies, and thyroid cancer.
Jeffrey Brown, MD
Dr. Jeffrey Brown is a pathologist specializing in urologic pathology. He received his MD degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and is board-certified in both anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr. Brown completed his fellowship in genitourinary pathology at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, CA and his fellowship in oncologic surgical pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York, NY. Prior to joining GenPath in 2017, Dr. Brown was the laboratory director and uropathologist at Delaware Valley Urology/Pathline Laboratories in Voorhees, NJ.
Jeffrey Gilbert, MD
Dr. Gilbert possesses over 44 years of clinical experience and serves as GenPath’s Medical Director of Sexually Transmitted Infections. He was the founder and medical director of the nationally recognized STD Center for Excellence at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY for 17 years, where he offered a CME-accredited course in STDs. The STD Center for Excellence was the STD training site for New York State for 19 years and was also a CDC training center for five years. Dr. Gilbert now serves as the Medical Director of STIs for BioReference® and GenPath.
Dr. Gilbert has authored papers on a new treatment for resistant vaginal trichomonas infection, the use of Imiquomod in treating resistant Herpes infections in HIV-positive patients, the use of Imiquomod in treating genital warts in HIV-positive patients, nontreponema pallidum spirochetes causing genital ulcers, the use of Vitamin D to treat chronic urticarial, urethritis in women, and numerous papers on Pap smears and HPV testing. Dr. Gilbert completed medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was an assistant clinical professor of medicine and an assistant clinical professor of OB/GYN. He has provided guidance as an advisor to several patient organizations related to STDs. Dr. Gilbert had been named to Best Doctors in America from 2006 until his retirement from clinical practice in 2013.
